Windows 10 – Disable/Enable Windows Defender

Trying to install a new antivirus on my Windows 10 pc, i found out that I cannot enable realtime check. It happened because windows defender conflict with my antivirus.

How to turn off Windows Defender in windows 10

To turn off windows defender you have to open Local Policy Group Editor

edit group policy

edit group policy

Then open the following Path:

Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/Windows Components/Windows Defender

and go to (double click): Turn Off Windows Defender

Turn Off Windows Defender

Il you click “enable” you will disable Windows Defender, if you click “disable” you will enable Windows Defender.

If you don’t follow this procedure, you can disable Windows Defender from Setting panel, but it will restart at the next reboot.
