There are lot of way to take a screenshot in Windows 10. My favorite is to use Snipping Tools.
Snipping Tools
Using Snipping Tools you can select using the mouse the area of the screen that you need to take.
Search and open Snipping Tools on search bar
Clickng on “New” all the screen well be grayed out and using the mouse (just keek left clicked) you can select the area you need to take and than you can save it as image (jpg, png…).
I have selected few icons on the screen. Now I can save from File or if I need I can edit the image captured using the tools on the right of a tool bar.
Sometimes you could need to take a screenshot of something that need you to perform an action to be shown on the screen, for instance maybe you need to take a screenshot of mouse right-click or the screenshot of start menù. In these cases you can use the option “delay” and the capture will start few seconds after you click on new.
So first of all select the seconds you need to delay and then you click on New. Now you have the time to perfom right click (or what you have to do) before the screen is grayed out and you take screenshot.
Very important funcionallity of Snipping Tool is that you can copy and paste the screenshot taken into you documents (or email) without save it. Just clicking on Edit and Copy or clicking on Copy icon in the top bar.
Snip & Sketch
Snip & Sketch is a new tool developed by microsoft to take screenshot. I soppose it will take the place of snipping tool in a few.
Again Search and Selec Snip & Sketch
With Snip and Sketch you can take screenshot clicking on “New” as you can do with Snipping tool, here you have the options for delayed screenshot into “New” botton.
After taking screenshot you have more tools to edit the image. This tools are in the meedle of the top bar on the top. If you need to save or copy/paste the screenshot you have to use the icon on the right of the top bar
As Snipping Tool, also Snip & Sketch can copy screenshot into documents without save it before, just using the Copy icon on the right of the top bar.
Keyboard
Yes! You can take a screenshot using keyboard.
Stamp -> typing Stamp you “copy” in the memory of you computer the screenshot of ALL that you see on your desktop.
Stamp + CTRL + ALT -> Typing Stamp + CTRL + ALT (all at the same time) you will copy in the memory of your computer the screenshot of the active window you are using now.
How can you use this screenshot? You need to open Paint or any other graphical tool and do “paste” (CTRL + V).
